On Your Bike

In an effort to shake off a bit of middle-aged spread, I bought a new bike a couple of months back and have been cycling around 10 miles a day before breakfast. I always liked cycling and this area is perfect for it; fantastic countryside, amazing wildlife and the sea air, what could be better? I also bought a block of foam which I cut to shape to fit one of the pannier bags. I then created cut-outs in the foam so it would fit my camera with a short lens and a long lens. It works a treat and I can combine two of my hobbies.

On Friday afternoon I cycled around to the North Pier. A stone’s throw across the river mouth from where I live, it is a 4 mile trip there. I had hoped to get close to the Sandwich Terns that fish much closer to  that side than the pier in the town.   There were none to be seen when I got there (of course!), but I enjoyed just sitting watching the waves roll in and the small fishing boats return to harbour.

I really like these black and whites, especially the second one. And I think you should be known as the King of Creative Panoramas.

Well, your new hobby certainly has paid off from a photographic point of view! I am with Julie, I really love the second photo. Love that you custom fashioned one pannier to safely carry your camera equipment!
