That perfect sunrise (or sunset) workshops

Have you ever headed out at sunrise with your camera and never quite got that image with the Wow! factor? Do you ever wonder how photographers capture those amazing sunrise or sunset photos? Do you wonder what their secret is?

I understand that. We’ve all been there at some time in our photographic journey. Here’s the chance to find out how to get those stunning shots. What ever type of landscape or seascape photograph you want to create, you can learn the techniques to get superb images.

Last chance?

I’ve run workshops for individuals and small parties to capture sunrise and sunset for years. But, my businesses is evolving and I have fewer opportunities to run these now, so I am limiting the number I deliver. So this could be your last chance to get on my sunrise training workshop.

Will it be good training? My feedback on Google and Facebook is 100% positive and it is my intention to keep that reputation..

Three part sunrise workshop

This workshop comes in three modules. I split it so you can sign up for part or all of the course. It is only available for one or two people.

Module 1 is planning the shoot. Great photos almost never come from wandering around aimlessly with your camera. Knowing where to be, when you should arrive on location, the correct equipment to carry and setting your camera’s focus and exposure in advance. These all increase your chances of getting an excellent set of images. This is partly indoors and partly outside.

In Module 2 we go out and take the photos. We’ll look at positioning the camera, composing the image, adjusting the focal length, exposure and focus and capture different styles of photograph. We also discover the changing light colour and luminance. This session usually starts an hour or so before dawn, but it can equally happen around dusk if you prefer. The entire module is held outside.

Developing the images we took comes in Module 3. We will use the software with which you are most familiar and transform your images. If you don’t own software, you’ll also learn about excellent free and pay-for applications you can use. This module is indoors.

The times they are a changin’

Sunrise and Sunset times change according to the time of year. At mid-summer for module 2 we may be starting as early as 3.00 am for sunrise and finishing around 10pm for sunsets.  In the winter we may start as late as 7.30 am for sunrise or finish at 4.30. Some of the planned photoshoots may need the tides to be correct too. Modules 1 and 3 is run at any time of day.

Who is this training for?

It’s for you! Because I am delivering this as one-to-one or one-to-two training I can adapt it to suit your existing level of knowledge. If you don’t think this isn’t what you are looking for, you can always book one of my other courses.

Book Now!

I have decades of experience in photography and I love sharing what I have learnt in my training courses, but my opportunities for delivering training are becoming scarce. I equally love getting out and capturing the magical light at dusk and dawn. Shooting at sunrise and sunset can bring the very best results, but it is really challenging to get right. So if you don’t want to miss out then sign up while you still can.
