Q: I am just starting out in photography. Which course is right for me?
A: Ivor has a range of courses available. Most beginners choose Ivor’s 3 or 5 lesson 1-to-1 courses, where you will discover everything you need to know to control your camera and take better photos.
Q: I have friends who want to come along. Is there a discount for extra people?
A: Yes, Ivor will give discounts when more than one person wants to come along. Send him an email or contact him through social media, and he will sort that out for you.

Q: My pictures are never sharp. Can Ivor help me with that?
A: Yes. Often, blurred images are the result of poor technique rather than your equipment. But he can analyse your photos and look at how you are using your camera to help you get better results.

Q: I am studying photography at school. Will what I learn from Ivor help me with that?
Ivor has taught dozens of young people photography. He can offer technical knowledge to improve your photography that many school art teachers don’t have. He is DBS checked for working with both young people and vulnerable adults.

Q: Can Ivor give me advice about what camera to buy?
Yes, and he will do that for free. Not every camera suits every person, and some cameras are not as reliable as their marketing suggests. Ivor has good knowledge in this area, and he will help you choose your best option.

Q: Does Ivor give talks to clubs and businesses?
Ivor will happily give a talk about an aspect of photography to camera clubs, businesses and other organisations. Contact him for details

Q: I want to become a professional photographer. Can Ivor help me in my ambition?
A: Ivor has mentored several professional photographers and helped them to become successful in their careers. He has broad experience in running his hugely successful business.

Q: Ivor’s lessons are 1½ hours long. Can I combine them into one longer lesson?
A: That is possible. However, there is a lot to learn, and Ivor doesn’t want you to walk away with your brain overloaded with information. Through his experience, he has found that 1½ hours is as long as most people can absorb information. However, he does run specialist day-long photographic expeditions, such as his Farne Island workshops.

Q: If I need to cancel at the last moment, will the lesson be rescheduled?
A: Of course. Life happens, and Ivor always postpones if one of his clients has a family emergency or if bad weather makes the lesson impossible. The one caveat to that is the Farne Island workshops. Ivor buys the boat tickets in advance and needs at least 48 hours’ notice to rearrange the date. He recommends checking your travel insurance to ensure you are covered for cancellations.
Ivor keeps a close eye on the weather forecast leading up to your workshop and will contact you if it looks like you will be better off postponing. However, the choice to postpone is always yours.
