Are Ivor’s photography courses and workshops of good quality?

Ivor is committed to providing the best quality workshops possible. That is reflected in all his 5-star reviews on Google and Trustpilot.

I am just starting in photography. Which course is right for me?

Ivor has a range of courses available. Most beginners choose either 3 or 5-lesson 1-to-1 courses, where you will discover everything you need to know to control your camera and start taking better photos.

I have a friend who wants to come along. Is there a discount for a second person?

Ivor gives discounts when more than one person wants to come along. Send him an email or contact him through social media, and he will sort that out for you.

A long exposure of a waterfall

Yes. Often, blurred images are the result of poor technique rather than your equipment. But Ivor can analyse your photos and look at how you are using your camera to help you get better results.

I am studying photography at school. Will what I learn from Ivor help me pass?

Ivor has taught dozens of young people photography. He can offer technical knowledge to improve your photography that many school art teachers don’t have. He is DBS checked for working with both young people and vulnerable adults.

I see Ivor is an OM System Ambassador. I use a Nikon. Can Ivor still teach me?

Ivor can teach you photography, no matter which camera brand you use.

Yes, and he will do that for free. Not every camera suits every person, and some cameras are not as reliable as their marketing suggests. Ivor has strong knowledge in this area and will help you choose the best option.

I want to become a professional photographer. Can Ivor help me in my ambition?

Ivor has mentored several professional photographers and helped them to become successful in their careers.

Most of Ivor’s lessons are 1½ hours long. Can I combine them into one longer lesson?

That is possible. However, there is a lot to learn, and Ivor doesn’t want you to walk away with your brain overloaded with information. Through his experience, he has found that 1½ hours is as long as most people can absorb information.

Ivor’s lessons sometimes run over because of enjoyment (at no extra cost). So if you have an appointment immediately afterwards, remind him that you must finish on time.

If I need to cancel at the last moment, will the lesson be rescheduled?

Of course. Life happens, and Ivor always postpones if one of his clients has a family emergency or if bad weather makes the lesson impossible. The one caveat to that is the Farne Island workshops. Ivor buys the boat tickets in advance and needs at least 48 hours’ notice to rearrange the date. He recommends checking your travel insurance to ensure you are covered for cancellations.

Ivor keeps a close eye on the weather forecast leading up to your workshop and will contact you if it looks like you will be better off postponing. However, the choice to postpone is always yours.
