Discover Seashore Birds and Coastal Wildlife Photography Workshop in Northumberland
Thursday 5th November 2026
One of Ivor Rackham’s Northumberland Photography Workshops

Coastal Wildlife Photography on the Northumberland coast offers wonderful opportunities to photograph shorebirds, seabirds and other wildlife, during a practical class led by Ivor Rackham.
Learn to approach wildlife photography with patience, observation, and an understanding of bird behaviour. We’ll explore focus techniques, shutter speeds, exposure, backgrounds, and capturing movement, including birds in flight.
We’ll also look at how the tide influences where birds feed and how to position yourself to photograph them.
Wildlife welfare always comes first. You’ll learn techniques for photographing birds without disturbing them or interfering with their natural behaviour.
